Do you work with contracts?

Absolutely! When you book with us, we’ll provide the booking contract right away. Then, two weeks before your scheduled start date, you’ll receive the editing/reading/marketing contract. Rest assured that our Editors and ALPHA/BETA/ARC Readers will sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement to keep your manuscript confidential. Your project is in safe hands!

How far in advance should I book?

We love the opportunity to work with you, and because our editing services fill up quickly, we encourage you to reach out as soon as possible! Let’s chat about your project, where you are in the process, and your timeline. We’re here to help you.

What is the best order for editing?

We truly care about your project's success, so we recommend the following order for our editorial services to ensure everything flows smoothly:

1. Developmental Editing

2. Line Editing

3. Copy Editing

4. Proofreading

Sticking to this sequence helps us avoid the need to backtrack, saving you both time and money. Just a heads-up: this recommendation is without the use of any readers. If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to reach out!

Can I contact you by phone, Zoom or WhatsApp?

We’re a small team passionate about providing excellent service, and we start our conversations via email to ensure we can respond quickly to your needs. If you’d like, we’d be happy to arrange a call to discuss your questions in a more personal way. Once you’re with us, we promise to keep in touch regularly to ensure a great experience together!

Will I receive my manuscript before the final invoice?

No, the final payment is due before we return your edited manuscript and any other materials. Once we’ve received the remaining balance, we’ll send everything over to you. Typically, final manuscripts are sent on the same day as the payment, unless the payment is made after our business hours or on a weekend. We're here to get your work back to you as quickly as possible!

What is your refund policy?

We ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit for all editing, formatting, and cover design services, with full payment required for our reading services. Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds for cancellations or completed services, so please be sure to review our Refund Policy located in the footer for more details.

Do you offer Payment Plans?

We currently do not offer payment plans for our Coaching sessions; however, you can enjoy a discount by making an immediate payment.

For our Editing and Marketing services, we do offer flexible payment plans. Here are your options:

1. PayPal Instalments: We can invoice you through PayPal, which offers instalment options. Just a heads-up: these payment plans are managed by PayPal and are not associated with SafeHaven Author Services.

2. Custom Payment Plan: You can also discuss a personalised payment plan directly with us at SafeHaven Author Services. We’ll work together to agree on a payment amount that fits your budget, whether it’s weekly, fortnight (bi-weekly), or monthly. Please keep in mind that you’ll receive your edited files after the final payment is made.

For marketing, payment plans will depend on your personalised package, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us to explore this further.

Which Payment options do you have?
